As children with cognitive and other disabilities age, families often come to a point where they are too old to continue caring for their child, and have to make the tough decision to place their child in an adult foster care group home; entrusting the staff to provide the same level of care as the family would. Other times, as our parents age, families have to reach a similar decision. No family expects harm to befall their loved one while they are being cared for. The Mid-Michigan Law Group provides both personal and professional experience, as Jim’s oldest child has cognitive disabilities, giving Jim an understanding other lawyers do not have when handling these types of cases.
